Travel that involves floors rather than luggage racks is hard on pale fabric. Matcha green is dark enough to survive being set down on gravel and grass without looking permanently grubby, but it is still light enough to read the contents through a mesh top by headtorch. The rest of the eight-piece layout is unchanged, so it packs exactly like the others.

What it does well

Four things worth knowing

1A mid-tone green hides the scuff marks that a dorm floor leaves on cream fabric, which matters more than it sounds on a three-week trip.
2Cubes keep clothing compressed into a shape, so a rucksack can be repacked in the dark without anything unfolding.
3The mesh panel keeps damp fabric from sitting sealed, which is the difference between merely worn and actually musty.
4Both bags in the set have their own drawstring or zip, so wet and dry can be separated without a plastic bag.
