A suitcase that gets opened on a hotel luggage bench in front of a colleague is a different object from one opened in a bedroom. Purple grey is the quiet option in this range: it reads as a neutral in most light and only shows the violet under warm bulbs. The eight-piece contents are the standard layout, which is the right amount for two or three nights.

What it does well

Four things worth knowing

1Six cubes is enough to give shirts their own box, which is what keeps them out of the crease that comes from packing loose against a shell.
2The hanging toiletry bag saves the ritual of laying a wash kit out on a hotel counter and then repacking it wet at six in the morning.
3Dark fabric hides the marks that a wheeled case picks up from an airport floor.
4The laundry bag holds two or three days of worn shirts without the smell reaching the packed side of the case.
